Before cookies and kids I was an attorney. I worked in civil litigation and specialized in labor and employment law. I was incredibly fortunate to work for knowledgeable and patient individuals who both mentored me and pushed me out of my comfort zone. While I do not miss living my life in six-minute billable increments, I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity litigation afforded me. Speaking in public, managing expectations, and juggling multiple tasks has translated nicely from lawyer to business owner. I’ve also found that cookies make people much happier than a subpoena.

Simmi’s Bakehouse was a dream I didn’t intend to pursue until I was retired. With encouragement from my husband (aka-the chief taste tester) that dream was pulled off the back burner. Together, we have been operating Simmi’s Bakehouse since December 2021 and hope to continue into the foreseeable future. Thank you for welcoming us into your homes and onto your tables.
