With Father’s Day rapidly approaching, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate our bakehouse Sugar Daddy - Amit Schlesinger. As the resident chief taste tester, every flavor that comes out of the Simmi’s Bakehouse kitchen is vetted and scrutinized by Amit. As a result of his commitment and diligence only the tastiest survive!

Simmi’s Bakehouse is a true “mom and pop” operation. I manage social media and create/bake all the products while Amit maintains the website, inventory, assembly, and accounting. He is also our delivery driver (although I fill in occasionally), which means it’s usually his smiling face you see when you receive our cookies. We work as a team and I am thankful to have a partner that is so invested in the mission and success of Simmi’s Bakehouse.

In addition to his taste tester duty, Amit is also an attorney who maintains his full-time job at Kaplan. He is a man who wears many hats but he arguably wears his Daddy hat best. Our two toddlers absolutely adore him and for good reason. He is the pillar that holds the Bakehouse together and I am so thankful to also call him my husband. He is what makes our house a home.
